Pledge Agreement

Thank you very much for your generous offer to support the efforts of Sheffield Land Trust in protecting the land essential to Sheffield's natural, scenic, agricultural and rural character. We have an impressive record of success, and this is possible because of your support. As always, we accomplish a great deal of our work with volunteers and your dollars leverage additional funds from partner organizations, foundatio ns and the community. In order to plan projects and encourage others to donate, it would be helpful to document the purpose, amount and timing of your anticipated contribution by completing and returning this agreement. Sheffield Land Trust accepts gifts of cash, securities, life insurance and bequests, real estate and appreciable personal property. Contributions are tax deductible. Project Funds

$ _______ Balsam Hill Farm Fund, for the preservation of a 154-acre farm and riparian buffer along the Housatonic River on Hewins Street and Maple Avenue.

$ _______ Bow Wow Road Farm & Nature Preserve Fund for the preservation of 144 acres of productive farmland for organic farming and upland forest for a nature preserve.

$ _______ Community Recreational & Educational Trail Network Fund toward the acquisition and stewardship of trail properties and easements to provide a network of public walking paths for town residents and an educational and recreational resource for students.

$ _______ Egerton Family Farm Fund for the protection of an 80 acre farm on Route 7 along the Housatonic River that supports a family farm stand and one of the county's largest dairy operations.

$ _______ Griffiths Cold Spring Farm Fund for the preservation of 52 acres of farm- land and wildlife habitat along the Housatonic River on Hewins Street (part of the Sheffield Land Trust's Housatonic River Corridor Agricultural and Ecological Initiative to preserve the riparian corridor and watershed--the ecological and working landscapes--along both sides of the Housatonic).

$ _______ Howden Farm Fund for the preservation of a 247-acre historic farm along Rannapo Road which produces the famous Howden pumpkins as well as sweet corn and pick-your-own berries.

$ _______ Maple Shade Farm/Rote APR Fund for the protection of 120 acres of prime agricultural soils, wildlife habitat and scenic vistas as the foundation for preserving an unfragmented rural landscape along and near Sheffield-Egremont Road in northwest Sheffield.

General Funds

$ _______ Challenge Grant Fund to encourage support for the Sheffield Land Trust by matching the contributions of those donors meeting the Challenge Grant parameters for that year. (Minimum pledge $10K)

$ _______ General Membership Fund to support the general operations, land protection, outreach, education and other activities of the Sheffield Land Trust.

$ _______ Land Protection Fund for the cost of land and development rights acquisition, appraisals, surveys, closing costs and other expenses associated with land protection projects.

$ _______ Roger & Virginia Drury Stewardship Fund for the monitoring, maintenance and other costs of properties under Sheffield Land Trust management or stewardship.
